Pretty Much Sums it Up
Never before has a wine so accurately described life…
2020 started out with so much hope and promise. A new decade with new opportunities, new goals, and new prospects. Then the Big Man upstairs snapped his finger and put the entire world in a giant timeout. Before we could “think about what we did wrong” life turned into a bizarre version of the Hunger Games in which we were locked down in our homes hoarding toilet paper as if it were gold. It wasn’t Armageddon but it was as close to it as I ever want to be. No need to recap the worst year of our lives except to say it was a complete sh!tshow.
Since I had planned to start this blog in 2020 you would think it would’ve been up and running by now what with all that time at home. Surprisingly enough, I never had time to write. I was too busy searching for toilet paper, binging Netflix, and treading water while “friends” tied bricks to my feet hoping I would drown. Enter 2021…I have more than enough toilet paper, binged all I can and broke those ties to rise to the top, dry myself off and start all over again. Forest Gump may have thought “life was like a box of chocolates”, but I tend to think life is like a bottle of wine. You have to crush some grapes and let them ferment before you can taste the flavors in a nice Merlot. And yes, I know there are a few more steps in there, but I’m a wine drinker not a wine maker so cut me some slack.
Welcome to my Mom Likes Merlot blog where I will talk about my life, Hollywood, and most importantly wine! I won’t share everything because I would like to keep some mystery in our relationship, but I will shed some insight into the world of a maid, Uber driver, referee, counselor, business woman, occasional hostage negotiator, CEO, and wine drinking woman. Like this wine I’m American made, a little dry at times, but always tries to find the humor in every situation. So while life can be a sh!tshow at times, I find the best way to get through it is with humor and a glass or 3 of a nice red wine.
Until next time…Salute
